Family Support Programs

Our Family Support Programs focus on supporting parents in our community by providing inclusive services and a welcoming environment, as well as connecting families to other resources they need.

Family Support

Provides one-on-one support and referrals to parents who are facing life challenges. Staff can help you apply for child care subsidy, subsidized housing, leisure access pass, and income assistance as well as support around parenting and mental health.

Who: Parents of children aged 0–18
Where: Little Mountain Neighbourhood House (#102–1193 Kingsway)
Cost: Free with $10 LMNHS membership

Indigenous Support Programs

Our Indigenous Support Programs focus on supporting Indigenous community members by providing a safe space to be seen and heard, connect with others, and heal the body, mind, and spirit.

Moving Mondays

Would you like to do some exercises, but don’t know where to start? Come join Stephanie in an inclusive fun atmosphere for activities for everyone to discover. Together we might power walk through the neighbourhood, engage in wall exercises, chair workouts, movements and stretches. Maybe learn a new dance?

One-on-Ones

Whether you need assistance with child care, child care subsidy, parenting support or income assistance, leisure access passes for your family.

Moms Group

Are you a mom that would like to meet like-minded moms? To have a little bit of time to get together, have a coffee/tea a light snack, and chat? This is the program for you. Moms come together every other Wednesday. Come on in for a visit!

Women's Sharing Circle

Women coming together to share stories, wisdom, laughs, tears and lived experiences. Our circle is open to all women. Open to listening, sharing while addressing real world challenges. Come enjoy some wonderful conversations, meet new moms. Enjoy a coffee/tea and light snacks.

Early Years Programs

Our Early Years Programs focus on supporting families in raising their children in a welcoming environment, while allowing children to develop social and early literacy skills.

Family Drop-In

Come and play with your child at Little Mountain Neighbourhood House! This program provides the opportunity for parents and caregivers and their young children (0 to 5 years old) to meet new friends, play, and sing together indoors. 

Who: Children aged 0–5 and their caregivers 
When: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (presently ongoing)
Time: 9:30 AM–12:00 PM; meet at 9:30 AM

Move and Make

Come and play with your child at Kensington Community Centre! This program provides the opportunity for parents and caregivers and their young children (0 to 5 years old) to meet new friends, play, and sing together indoors while enjoying a movement activity lead by a yoga instructor.

Please pack a snack for your child if you wish.

When: April 10–June 26, 2025

Parent-Child Mother Goose

Come and play with your child(ren)at Little Mountain Neighbourhood House. This program provides the opportunity for parents and their infants (0 to 12 months) to meet new friends, learn new songs, and sing together indoors.
